— Welcoming the Companionship of Others in Our Day —
Knowing that the education of the child is integral to the future of a growing world community, we try to cultivate a local community life honoring the needs of the youngest children. Feeling that the real essence of education is found in the “school of life”, our daily rhythms are primarily child-centered and revolve around farmlife, labor, arts and the cycles of nature. In filling our days with song, literature, creative work, and time spent with mother earth, we strive toward the ideal of providing an environment free of the artificial effects of media and consumerism- our farm is a reduced technology experience. In this sanctuary, we offer renewal to children of all generations…
With Waldorf roots that began in association with Camphill Village, our family has journeyed through a brief period of Waldorf education in the schools and circled back home again. With the luxury of flexibility that is not so easily achieved in a school, our program is an eclectic mix of creative ideas designed to meet the present needs of the children we are working with. While we do have periods set aside for structured study, our days are more reflective of the Camphill experience than a Waldorf classroom. We feel that a rich and wholesome environment offers the richest opportunities for growth and discovery.
