Nestled into the old farmhouse on BelleWeather Farm, the Shepherd’s Child handwork studio romances an era gone by, bringing time-honored traditions into the modern realm. Through your hands or ours, creating with natural fibers such as wool, mohair, silk, and alpaca, living fiber takes on new form. Working with associated tools spanning the last two centuries, we nurture the artistic development of fiber craftspeople and students of all ages, at all levels of experience. Spinning, knitting, felting, weaving, stitching, or just hugging the sheep, every visitor can find an outlet to bring his creative vision to life.

Regina Mason is the prime mover behind the Shepherd’s Child handwork studio. A fiber artist, shepherdess, homeschooling mother and traditional musician, she teaches a broad range of fiber related arts. Her own artistic work can be found at several of the major East coast fiber festivals and in specialty clothing stores in the Northeast, as well as in the Farm Shop at BelleWeather. Harboring a special love for festivals and four-legged and winged co-workers, Regina and her family have developed the festival life, musical life, and barnyard realm at the Shepherd’s Child’s home at BelleWeather Farm in Coventry, NY. With an M.Ed., Waldorf, and public education certifications, on the road Regina brings homespun and historic traditions to colleges, schools, homeschool collectives, conferences, fiber festivals, and historical events throughout the US.
